Apple Pi Robotics puts heavy emphasis on learning through hands-on experience. It is a student-lead team, with mentors available at all times to assist members.
By using a hands on approach to learn, the students, develop a better understanding for the mechanics behind building a robot. This method not only teaches independency but also sparks curiosity.
Students on the team are not only members, but they become part of the Apple Pi Robotics family. Because of their similar interests, they quickly become close friends.
Apple Pi Robotics is not only about building cool robots and expanding its knowledge of technology, it also strives to give back to the community. Many events are hosted during the off-season in order to bring the community together, or to raise money for charity.
Below are some of the statements that our team firmly believe in. We strive to make the FIRST mission, our everyday achievement.
“To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders.”—Dean Kamen, Founder
“It’s like life. There’s never enough information. Never enough time. There’s always competition and you need a strategy. We’ve created a microcosm of the real engineering experience.”—Woody Flowers, FIRST National Advisor
Financial stability is critical to every FIRST Robotics team. As such, and a non-profit 501-(3)(c) organization, Apple Pi Robotics relies heavily on sponsorships to supplement our independent fund raising activities. Our donor list includes multi-national Fortune 500 companies and local businesses that care deeply about our community. We wish to thank everyone that has assisted us in keeping this important program viable and our finances in balance.
